old art from 2021

and a rallying cry for archiv(al?)ists everywhere

a house is made from hope a home is made from love - aug 2021

i painted this in my journal with acrylic paints just after the end of my first long-term relationship and right around the time i found out a friend who i once was very in love with became a born-again christian and i realized that unless i did the same, our friendship was not going to look like i historically thought they might. this context does not seem to have informed the contents of this painting, but maybe just maybe there is some sacrilegious subtext in that particular green shade???

also, someone please tell me this does NOT look like four of the six-ish/seven if you include luna original csj house residents (from left to right: cl with new longer hair, cc, in, eg with new shorter hair). for those of you who may not have lived in wheeling, west virginia, this is in reference to the name of the house in which i lived with several friends/housemates/associates this past year. am i going crazy or what!! you do see it right?? aaaaaa!

i have been having a whole day of supposedly making up work from home that i missed because of the eclipse, which has involved (1) some real working on my computer (farmers use computers too ya know) and (2) lots of blog theme adjustments and (3) skimming through a bunch of my old journals reading random bits and pieces and looking for interesting art type things and drawings. and lo and behold! there's some fun stuff in there. proud of 2021 emma and her disturbingly haircut-sensitive clairvoyance!

alas i fear that my blog may soon become a weird self centered shrine to all my old and ongoing art. but lowkey isn't that what a blog is all about.....???? also, as a chronic journaller, i have yearned for years for a way to digitize some of the two-dimensional things i've made or written down, and finally the blogosphere has provided me with this opportunity. sorry everyone. GOOGLE YOU BETTER NOT SELL ANY MORE OF THIS DATA TO AI OKAY!!! i feel like digital privacy doesn't actually exist, and at the moment, the pros of sharing my little art things feel like they outweigh the cons, but still. something to think about ya know. any who. enjoy!!!!

i have also been putting some drawings over on my blog PAGE called drawings which i will link here for funsies too. to be periodically updated perhaps. kay here tis:
