hi :-)

i have been missing the blogosphere. and my friends for whom i write things.

for a long while, i thought my computer was broken. figuring i had short-circuited its battery when i accidentally plugged my charger into two outlets at the same time; yes the arms operate independently of one another, so what!!!! but turns out, all i had to do was reset something or other and it turned right back on. i was about two weeks from ordering a new computer battery, but thankfully i like to take lots of time in deliberating such matters, in pondering where to order said battery from, or whether to bring it all the way to stowe, vt for repairs, and so on, and so in the meantime i happened upon a much cheaper solution (pressing seemingly random combinations of keys on my computer). in conclusion, this is why i've been taking my sweet time writing things down via word processor. not that anyone was wooondering or anything, BUT! there you have it. for the historical record. hello. if you are reading this i definitely miss you and think you are pretty cool.

how do i speak to all that is happening??? do the big overarching events even matter?? what about the sweet sweet granularities of each passing moment?!?!?

i think it most fitting to share a selection of photographs from the past few months, and this i shall do shortly. i have been enjoying of late: making art for friends, going on the occasional date (!!!!!!!), dancing, swimming in the lake after dinner, playing poker >:-) and sleeping with my windows open. walking about barefoot at work. sending voice memos to people. drinking a glass of milk with dessert. ummmm idk reading allegedly. hm. also, i drove twenty four hours this weekend to spend forty-two in wheeling, west virginia, and this was one of the best decisions of my summer (so faaaar) <3

05-24-24 my friend came to visit me!!!!!!! for a whole week!!!!! this was the beginning of time feeling both infinite and passing very quickly. now it is july. and so on.

05-25-24 often at work we make these very beautiful popsicles with the kids. they involve: violas, mint, strawberry, lemonade. they are very easy to make and very refreshing.

06-02-24 the first spoon i ever whittled (not especially structurally sound, but very fun to make). i have since made only two other even less functional but more artsy spoons and i am awaiting a smaller carving knife so i can make spoons with smaller bowls........ 


06-03-24 my very OWN borage, grown from seed paper made with catherine in february. many of the blooms on this plant have only four petals instead of the typical five. a strange variation
